An engine rarely dies from oil pressure as such. It dies because too little oil arrives where it is needed, at the bearings. Between the oil pump and the main bearings sit the strainer, filter, cooler and galleries, and each of them can narrow the path. The articles here follow the oil along that path.
If you are new to the topic, start with Understanding the oil pump. It explains why a pump delivers volume rather than pressure, and why hot idle is its weak spot. If you have already converted or rebuilt an engine and are not happy with the result, the typical causes are in the articles on oil pressure after a conversion and oil pressure after a rebuild.
